Up for your consideration is this lovely Victorian Flapper Necklace w Black Jet or Glass Mourning Beads Hand Strung Knotted. This is awesome looking measuring approx. 30" long not including the 4 in bib dangling pendant. There is no clasp but its long enough to slip over your head. the entire length including the bib is 34.5". The largest bead is the long one at 1 1/2". I think they are black jet beads but I am not certain? Could be glass crystal or onyx as well. The beads are hand strung and individually knotted. Its in marvelous condition and dates to the early 1900s or late 1800s. Often called Mourning jewelry for Queen Victoria after her husband King Albert died in the late 1800s. Women wore mourning jewelry in honor of her and also to commemorate the end of the civil war for many years into the early 1900's. Get this beauty if you collect mourning jewelry or just like long beads. Great for the gothic or zombie chick as well.
