I'm not a teacher, but as someone who writes for young people--and who has always gleaned great encouragement and inspiration from fantasy--find this quote to be quite convicting. I think it would be wonderful for English teachers or parents, but I also find it appropriate for anyone who interacts with children on any level.
I painted the quote on a beautiful, stoneware-looking mug, of a medium size, with a black glazed interior. Beside the quote, to the left of the handle, I added a great, sprawling castle, to represent the fantasy that keeps so many of us afloat in this harsh world.
Here's to more brave knights and heroic courage in the world!
All of my work is done with heat-set ceramic paint, and will do very well with dishwashers and the ordinary passage of time. I would, however, recommend against the use of strong abrasives.
