This painting was made using a wet-in-wet technique. After I draw a grid on the paper, I paint an individual square, wait a few seconds, and then add a second color of wet paint. The paint “bleeds” naturally, creating either a “cell” with awesome natural fractal patterns or a big old blob. If the former occurs, I wait a few more seconds and add another color – the nucleus or nuclei. Then I do this a bunch more times in different colors. Scientific accuracy is not guaranteed!
Painted with Winsor and Newton Artist’s Watercolors on extra heavy Canson paper (300lb).
Overall size 18 x 24 in an acid-free white mat with backing board. Standard size for easy framing. Signed. Absolutely unique!
