Back in the early 1940s when, in UK, clothing was rationed, silk was only obtainable on the black market and nylon tights were a thing of the future, artificial silk stockings were darned. Cards of fine threads were treasured and used as soon as the slightest snag appeared in the fabric and ladders were always repaired. These three cards, in some of the most popular colours, are a small piece of social history, and collectors items that are becoming increasingly rare.

Made in England - 'Crystal' trade mark - 3 1/4" x 2 1/4"

This listing is for three cards of artificial silk mending thread, one is slightly damaged and has probably been used.
