Length: 12 inches (30 cm)
Tapers: None, this is just a straight pin.
A rolling pin made of beautiful Tiger maple which was found locally in New York state. The stripes are iridescent and have a "3D" effect when you tip the rolling pin in the light.
The size of this rolling pin is good for rolling pastry dough and for pies. It's small enough that it isn't awkward to handle on any average counter but still big enough to be useful for most baking purposes. The surface coats well with flour and cleans easily with a damp sponge. Not much maintenance is required although it is a good idea to coat it in a food safe oil once a month or so. I usually use vegetable oil. It will seal the surface and protect the wood so (if taken care of) it can last a lifetime!
