Teabowl. Cone 6, electric fired, porcelain, carved slip trailed
A teabowl is a Japanese term for a tea cup that has no handle, a trimmed foot and is wider like a bowl so you can whisk the tea.
Whether it is used for the first hot cup of coffee in the morning, for a soothing cup of ice tea, or for holding flowers or toothbrushes and toothpaste, my work is meant to bring beauty into your daily life.
Each piece is thrown on the potter's wheel. As the pieces dry, I carve and then slip-trail each piece by hand. No molds or stamps are used in the process. All of my work is lead-free and food, dishwasher, and microwave safe.
