Soft like a glove! These moccasins are soft and supple - made of white leather with a white fur trim and hand stitched beadwork on each. I believe they are handmade every step of the way. They are vintage, but they appear new - having been simply packed away for another day. There is a size that has been written on cardboard that was stitched to the inside of one of the moccasins and I doubt they would have been worn with that in place. I have also pictured the bottom of the moccasins and you can see how they show absolutely no wear. It is my guess these were purchased on a trip as a souvenir to a Native American village or exhibition and simply packed away. I think they must have been my mother's and estimate the date they were made to be around 1960.
The are marked size 7, but you might want to also consider the measurements because handmade items can vary from regular sizes. I measure them as 9 1/2" from toe to heel and approx. 4" at the widest part going across the moccasin. Leather will stretch a bit. I think these were sized to fit a woman, but they certainly might also be cherished by an older child.
Take a look at the back of the moccasin. Again, this looks hand stitched. The way they are constructed there is a lining inside, so you won't have thread or seams directly against your foot. The lining is not fur. Look at the close up with the number 7 and you will see how it looks. I believe the fur cuff is rabbit, but I can't say for sure. They are really beautiful and incredibly soft. Wear these as bedroom slippers, an indoor shoe, or even for driving - what comfort!
Please read my shop policies. Make certain you will be happy with the size because as footwear, these cannot be returned or exchanged.
The new owner will love these!
