This is a vintage facsimile of a drawing by Frei Cristovao de Lisboa in the 17th. Century (1625-1631) while he was in Brazil as a missionary. The original drawings, in pencil and covered in ink, are part of a manuscript "Historia dos animais e árvores de Maranhao" that is kept in an archive in Portugal. In 1967, the arquive published a study about the work of Frei Cristovao that included facsimile copies of his drawings. These prints were part of that 1967 edition.
Size: approx. 9" by 12"
In excellent condition. It is printed on thick paper. The uneven borders and darker areas that you see are in the original drawing that is reproduced in this vintage facsimile.
This is the actual page from a 1967 book, not a reproduction.
Sent to you in a flat envelope protected with a cello sleeve and cardboard or in a tube.
