A monkey's fist is a type of knot, that in days of old was tied at the end of a rope to serve as a weight, making it easier to throw a line to shore. Some sailors would even put heavy objects (such as bolts or pieces of shot) inside to make it easier to throw, or to be used as a weapon in a bar room brawl.
Today, it is mostly used as an ornamental knot.
These Monkey's Fists are tied from 1/4" rope and are approximately 2-2.5 inches in diameter. These knots come in a NATURAL TAN color tied from sisal rope (first two pictures) or a BROWN color tied from manila rope (third picture) - please select your color choice at check-out.
