In the early middle ages cupboard beds were a common feature in many homes, especially in the northern climates. They kept out the cold drafts and provided some privacy in the days when separate bedrooms were rare.
The front of this bed is decorated with floral carved wood panels. The wood stain I used is English chestnut, with 3 coats of satin varnish. The curtain and rod are removable. The royal blue bedding and curtain is 100% silk. There are 3 silk pillows and 1 large cotton and silk pillow.
This is one inch scale size. The measurements are 7” long x 5” wide x 7” high.
I can replace the silver ribbon curtain tie back with either black or gunmetal chain (no additional cost) upon request from the buyer. That would give the bed a somewhat older look.
PLEASE NOTE – the accessories shown in the first two pictures are not included and are used as photo props only. However, they are available in my shop.
This is a delicate collectable item and is not suited for use in a child’s dollhouse.
