Zig Zag Batik Lap Quilt 45" wide x 58" long
A little bright, a little suble, lots of pattern and design - and all marvelous batiks! It gets its name "Zig Zag" from the crazy direction of the blocks - some sideways, some up and down.
This pretty little lap quilt measures 45" wide and 58" long. Many colors and many fabrics have been used, including greens, blues, golds, pinks, purples, a little brown...... The dark sashing between the blocks and the binding are a deep green and black batik with trees. This same fabric is on the back.
The batting is 100% cotton Warm and Natural.
This quilt is constructed by a method called "Quilt-as-you-go". Each block is completed separately, with the batting and backing. Then all the blocks are assembled with the sashing. So, it looks like there isn't much quilting, but every seam has been stitched! You can see this in the photo of the back. Then a decorative "leaf" stitch was used to sed the sashings. You can see this in the close-up.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS: All fabrics were washed before being used but the finished quilt has not been washed. When necessary, the quilt can be machine washed in cold or warm water - gently! It can be machine dried on the lowest setting. As it is washed, it will become even softer, and may shrink a very small amount.
