Bowl number 4638 is a hand turned dish made from Yucatan Rosewood. Each of my bowls are signed, numbered and dated (year). They are finished with a friction polish that's applied while still on the lathe.

This bowl measures 5 3/8" across and is 1" high.

Yucatan Rosewood is a hard, light-reddish brown wood with darker-reddish brown grain. It looks like a cross between Honduras Rosewood and Cocobolo, but does not have the allergenic properties of either of them.
Found in Central and South America, Yucatan Rosewood which creates beautiful tones and patterns when turned. It is also hard and lightweight, making it ideal for bowls, musical instruments and more.
Typical used in furniture, musical instruments, sporting implements, xylephones and even umbrella handles.
