I live in a secluded area on the California Coast. I use to haunt caves along the shoreline where abalone clung to the walls, and the waves crashed in at high tide.
Due to overfishing, poaching, and habitat loss, the abalone are now scarce, but a shell will glimmer here and there.
This necklace features a 30mmx40mm abalone cabochon bezeled with seed beads and a picot edge. Heavily fringed, reminiscent of anemone tentacles softly waving in rocky pools.
From clasp to clasp, the necklace is 18" long.
