The staircases in the old lighthouses provide a unique perspective and are amazingly fun to play with. This is the staircase in Heceta Head Lighthouse, near Florence, Oregon, and though the brick walls are no longer whitewashed, you can see what went into building this coastal sentry. If you've ever stopped at the Sea Lion Caves, you have seen Heceta. They offer tours and you can climb right to the top. The Assistant Keeper's house is a well-respected B&B.
