This is a set of eight vintage seashells--lovely cream and tan baking scallop shells that were used in about the 1950s or 1960s to bake and serve appetizers. These were stamped Made in France (only two of them still have readable stamps) and were used for delicacies such as Coquilles St. Jacques (scallops and mushrooms) or stuffed crab. These are heat resistant and can be taken from the oven to the table for impressive appetizers. They would also work well as votive candle holders and are lovely just as a matched set of shells.
The shells are in very good condition with no chips or damage.
Size: Approx. 3 3/4 inches tall x 4 inches wide x 1 inches deep (9.5 x 10.2 x 2.3 cm)
