This D.W. Haber and son coffee pot or pitcher features their their patented solid bar hinge, invented presumably as their 1902-founded business specializes in holloware for the hotel industry. This is a very substantial piece, weighing almost 4 pounds. The faceted sides also make it an unusually handsome one, I think. It is 10 inches tall and 6 inches wide at the base. It has one notable flaw, which is visible in the first and third photos, please use the zoom. One of the facets has been dented and this would need to be repaired by a professional.
Mark on the bottom says "sold by D.W. Haber and son". I believe it dates from the late 1920s or early 1930s, the D.W. Haber people are doing their annual inventory just now and unreachable but I am hoping they have a historian on staff and will update as I learn more.I like the masculine no-nonsense lines of this piece.
