♥ DESCRIPTION:
This nostalgic necklace features a wonderful old Smith Corona "SHIFT LOCK" key with the most popular serif font in black.
The color of this key can best be described as cream or pastel yellow. The light colored keys are harder to find, and I don't see them very often.
The typewriter key is first nestled in a lace edge bezel, and then mounted onto a delicate filigree setting designed with hearts and scrolls.
The back side is also covered with a pretty filigree for a professional finish.
A tiny silver skeleton key charm dangles below providing the perfect finishing touch.
The components in this multiple layered setting were made from the original dies created in the late 1800's, and are professionally plated in a thick sterling silver with a rich antique oxidized finish.

♥ MEASUREMENTS:
This pretty pendant dangles from a delicate 18" silverplated cable chain that closes securely with a lobster clasp.
The key measures 15mm across, and the pendant drop measures approx. 2" long.

All keys are salvaged from vintage typewriters circa 1800's - 1940's and each one is unique.
Please do not purchase if "shabby elegance" is not your thing.
Salvaged elements show obvious age including patina, imperfections, and varying finishes due to time and usage - this adds to their charm and is part of the appeal of vintage jewelry.

♥ CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
As with all items containing vintage elements and plated metals, please prevent contact with water, sprays, chemicals, perfumes and lotions. Polish with a jewelry cloth rather than liquid cleanser which can damage pearls, crystals, and other delicate finishes.
