" mid-century ranch"

Here I'm poking fun at the atomic era with this aptly named Gicleen "atomic ranch" a classic 1950's couple in " atomic hysteria" The vibrant olive green evokes the Mid Century period color palette while the juxtaposition of imagery and shapes creates a sense of drama and humor.
This unique piece of art is part of a series of Silkscreens, Giclees, Monotypes and Photo Montages, that utilizes iconic imagery, my own abstract drawings, shapes, industrial and graphic design themes from the 1940's-1950's. Classic printing colors black, peacock blue, fire red, process magenta, yellow and cyan are prevalent in each piece adding authenticity and harmony. Juxtaposition and the unexpected are used to create an interesting dialogue.
