This original lino print is a detailed, hand coloured image of a Superb Wren, a native Australian bird that lives around my home in Tasmania. It is based on my original photographs and hand cut, and printed with oil based printing ink. It is then hand coloured with vibrant watercolour. I cut the printed image out carefully, and put it on a background of collaged vintage book pages. These dainty birds hop about on my lawn, looking for their dinner, and the expanse of grass provides a backdrop for their bright colouring. The background of collage gives the same feel as the late summer grass.

This piece is unframed. It is approximately 34cm x 17cm (13 1/4 x 6 3/4 in) in size. The bird image itself is approximately 12.5 cm x 14 cm (5 x 5 1/2 in). The artwork goes right to the edge of the backing, which is quality Saunders 300gsm watercolour paper. The whole piece is sealed with a matt sealant, but the background collage will continue to deepen in colour as the piece ages. The ink and watercolour used are artist quality, light fast materials.

This piece would pair well with the artwork here https://www.etsy.com/listing/104034053/original-lino-print-collage-flame-robin

Your artwork will be mailed in weatherproof, creaseproof packaging, with great care.
