Xochil, our stunning statement peice hand-beaded collar necklace comes from talented artisan Marcario Matias. He is an Indigenous Huichol artisan who hails from the airid picturesque state of Nayarit. Huichol, or Wixáritari, what they refer to themselves by, work in a number of traditional artistic techniques, one of which is intricate hand-beaded jewelry. We have collaborated with Marcario to create this stunning modern necklace in a variety of color ways. In addition to the beautiful design and beading of this necklace, we collaborated with silversmiths, Mizpah, who designed and hand-forged the stunning one-of-a-kind Mexican silver clasps. Each necklace is a one-of-a-kind work of art and an exquisite example of indigenous Huichol hand work.
The great thing about this piece besides its quality and beauty, is that it can be just as easily dressed up or dressed down. Wear it with a strapless dress for a hot date, or a simple t-shirt and jeans for a casual day of shopping. Or better yet, summer at the beach in a colorful caftan and bikini!
These necklaces are meant to fit closely to the neck, the circumference of the neck, including clasp, is 16 inches. Please check your own neck’s measurement with a measuring tape before purchasing if you think you might have a larger than average neck.
