Maybe not unique but close to it.
These three original Sun Rubber Co., 1940s-1950s vintage cast iron industrial molds were used to make the faces on animal figure toys, child's squeaker toys. Acquired from an elderly former employee at the Barberton, Ohio (Akron area) plant who had great stories to tell about working there through World War ll and beyond.
Heavy plate copper or bronze (magnet does not stick) with relief mask of three different animals. Largest is surely a puppy, all copper or bronze. Other two, may be dogs as well. Their face section is ferrous, magnet sticks.
5 1/4" x 4 3/8" x 1/8" thick
6" x 3"
3" x 2 3/4"
Excellent factory used condition on two largest: No cracks, dings, warping or damage observed. Smallest is worn through around 1/2 of face where is meets plate backing & face is rusty.
Intriguing industrial kitsch to display as sculpture alone or in a grouping. Repurpose to make what you will, use in assemblage and mixed media art.
