Circles of muslin were hand sewn onto the cat and the pumpkins for backgrounds for the eyes. Black buttons were then used for eyes for the cat and orange pumpkin. The small white pumpkin has white buttons for eyes. Black fabric was stitched onto the pumpkins for noses with black embroidery thread. Prim mouths were hand-stitched onto the pumpkins for mouths. The cat's nose and mouth was needle-sculpted onto his face with thread. Pieces of rusty tin wire serve as his whiskers. Small sticks were glued into small slits in the pumpkins to serve as stems and small pieces of curled wire serve as tendrils.
The pumpkins were attached to the cat by lightly hand-sewing and glueing them into place. The piece sits best if it is lightly propped up by something. For finishing touches a piece of rusty wire was tied around the cats neck for his collar, complete with a rusty jingle bell. A grungy stained tag saying "Kat and Jax" was attached to the collar.
The cat measures approximately 9-1/2 " tall, 7-1/2" wide, and 2" thick. The larger orange pumpkin is approximately 4-1/4" tall, 4" wide, and 1-1/2" thick. The smaller white pumpkin is about 2-1/4" tall, 2-1/2" wide, and 1" thick.
This piece was created with love by me in my smoke-free home using a pattern by My Primitive Saltbox. Please note that this is not a toy nor intended for children. Please use caution as pieces of rusty wire are added to this piece.
