French Bulldogs are the cutest little gremlins, full of mischief and sass and after almost 25 years of living with them, I know gremlins! Those bat ears, that flat face all add up to the cutest expression around! When your Frenchie has a crusty gob of yuck on their nose, it detracts from their cute face. Plus, it has to be uncomfortable and frustrating for them. Curing my own Frenchies dry noses is what led me to create Nose Butter® in the first place, so keep reading for more.

This listing is for the .15 oz tube (lip balm or chapstick size) with All Fab 4 Frenchies on the label in an organza gift bag. SAVINGS ALERT! This size NOSE BUTTER is available for 3 for $9 in another listing - just saying'.

Tubes or Tins? Organic French Bulldog Dry Nose Treatment aka Nose Butter for Frenchies in the round tin is like butter in a tub. Nose Butter in the tube is more like a stick of butter. Same good stuff, just different applicator systems.

How To Use: If in the tin, scoop a bit (appropriate to the size of their nose) of Nose Butter® out and rub it across the top of the nose and allow it to melt in. If using the tube, point tube away from eyes and swipe a thing layer across the top of the nose. If your dog does not like having their face “messed with” give a cookie to distract, feed them their dinner right after application or play a fun game with them for a bit. Tickle tummy, chase or even a quick walk will distract them and be fun for you both! Many Frenchies do not like having their faces held closely – with their flat faces it can scare them or make them feel “smothered.” Apply 2-3x a day for 1-3 days and then rub the crusties off with a bit of tissue.

French Bulldog Facts & a Bit of History

French Bulldogs were bred to be a woman’s companion and they live up to that heritage. In the late 1800s, English Bulldogs were often bred in a Toy variety, many were not much over ten pounds! They had a variety of ear-sets – rose, bat and prick. With the Industrial Revolution, many lace workers immigrated to France, taking the little bulldogs with them. There they crossed the dogs with Pugs, terriers and other small breeds, creating the early French Bulldog. Frenchies became the darling of society and were often seen on the arms of prostitutes as they walked the boulevards of France. As is often the case, fashion traveled upwards and the wealthy soon clamored to have this charming little dog. Many were exported to the United States, where the bat ear was “set” by American enthusiasts.

In 1897, the first French Bulldog Club of America specialty show was held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York. Frenchies were all the rage! As many know, a French Bulldog was lost on the Titanic and a Frenchie, Ortino, was the beloved pet of one of the daughters of the Russian Royal family. His remains were found where the entire family was executed.
