The Halo of Flowers is less common, the piece spoke to me in all its rustic glory.
You can see at the bottom right where the candle burned.
Our Lady Refuge of Sinners was part of someones blessed altar.
I am not sure the source of the tin before painted. I see a few square notches on the back.
Could this once have been a paint can?? I always wondered.
I purchased this out of a collection on a wall, this was the one that stood out, beautiful.
The Retablo measures just under 10" x 14"
The piece over all, shows age.
The Floral Halo, mother and child are preserved nicely.
Simply a lovely work of art.
I wanted to make a note, photos are scanned allowing flaws to be intensified.
In person these areas are more pleasantly subdued.
I also included a page depicting a similar Retablo from the book.
'Art and Faith in Mexico'.
