The double fold, mitered binding is a lovely purple batik, and it is hand finished.
I used a quilting pattern called Windy Day, it provides very good coverage and goes beautifully with the nature of the quilt. The pattern really does look like wind (if you can imagine what wind looks like), it just adds so much movement and personality to the quilt.
The backing is a beautiful medium light blue batik with hints of purple throughout.
I absolutely love working with the batik fabrics, they are just so rich and the colors and patterns are quite vibrant and they make a wonderful palette for us fiber artists to work with.
The batting is Hobbs Heirloom, the quilt is made entirely of pre-washed 100% cotton batik.
