The plate is made by Gold Standard of Japan, and is porcelain. The paint used in this design is permanent and non toxic. You can use this decorative plate to serve treats, but the design has the potential to be damaged if it comes into contact with sharp knives or forks, so I would only use it to serve from. Hand wash only with non abrasive materials.
