Meet Razor!!!

Have you ever wanted to see the inner workings of a baby rat? Well now is your chance!!!

Razor is a super nice guy who donated his body to science! I did not kill Razor--he was dead when we met.

I have lovingly dissected Razor to show his abdominal cavity and its contents. You can see all of the delicate structures inside of him that must function perfectly together in order to sustain life. You can even use Razor as a learning tool to identify his internal organs such as his liver, stomach, large intestine, small intestine, etc.

Razor is quite a character! Not only is he super adorable, but he will let you fix his hair too! I think he looks very nice with a mohawk myself, but you can work that out with him. Unfortunately, his hairstyle is only temporary, as it will fall back into normal-rat-fur-mode once he goes back into his jar.

Razor comes in an clear acrylic box in which he can be displayed. (I actually prefer these boxes for display over a traditional jar because they allow the specimen to be viewed much more clearly and easily.) The box has a lid, but the lid does not form a leak-proof seal so if you fill it almost to the top with rubbing alcohol you will be good to go! Just don't place it somewhere that it can be accessed by live animals or small children because the lid is NOT childproof and may come off if it is knocked over.

This item will be shipped WITHOUT liquid preservative due to shipping regulations, but will be secured in the jar with bubble wrap to protect it. You will have to add your own preservative (holding solution) to the jar when it arrives in the mail. Rubbing alcohol will work just fine as a holding solution since it has already been preserved, and can be found at your local drug store or Walmart. I will help you with any questions you may have about what to do when it arrives, so just ask me!

Upon request, I will provide a pair of latex gloves and a square absorbent pad to unpack your specimen on, so you don't have to have a dead something-or-other laying on your kitchen table or where ever you decide to unpack it. The pad is nothing special, just a dog "WeeWee Pad" that is absorbent on one side and waterproof to protect the surface on the other side.
