One of the finest swimsuits I have found in quite sometime! Late 1930s-1940s knit maillot only has two seams on either side of the center front. Straps pass through three matching loops on the back and can be tied in a variety of manners. While shown criss crossed, they can also run down the sides for more of a backless look. Skirted front. Cotton lined bodice and center front panel. Soft on the inside, shiny on the outside. Grey and white in color with a leafy floral pattern.

Labeled: Swimaway Always in the Lead Smartly Designed For Perfect Fit

It's the same label as the last one on this long list of vintage swimwear labels:

Measurements

I do not pin clothing on models, but prefer instead to show you my garments on people they actually fit. Pearl's measurements at the time of this shoot were 34-26-38 and she stands 5'8" tall.

-Bust: Up to 36"
-Waist: 25"-28"
-Hip: Up to 40"
-Rise to center front: 20"
-Leg opening: 17" to 23"

Condition

Very Good vintage condition rating a 9 out of 10. The only flaw is a faint moth ball aroma. I purchased this suit from a woman who's Grandmother it originally belonged to. She was a swimmer in the late 1930s-1940s and this suit was packed away not long after. This suit has been freshly cleaned and then soaked in baking soda bath which removed a great deal of the moth ball smell, but there is still a slight fragrance.
