Whether you prefer silver or gold, you can't go wrong with this two-tone Viking knit necklace, as it has a little bit of both. Viking knitting is a technique of creating wire wrap jewelry, reminiscent of chain mail. Its origin lies in the 9th or 10th century when Vikings raided, traded, explored and settled in wide areas of Europe, Asia and the North Atlantic islands.
Regrettably, this necklace isn't quite that old; it was purchased in the mid-1970's. It measures 16" (or 40 cm.) and is in good vintage condition.
