This is a unique and one-off a kind hand felted Raven mask / head dress which it suitable for performance, dance and theatre as well as just wearing for fun!
It can be made to fit an adult or child: Just let me know your head circumference (measured above your ears around the widest part of the head) for a snug fit. It will take approximately 3-4 weeks to custom make your item. If you would like me to make a head dress of a different type bird, please send me a photo and the name of the bird.
All my creations are unique and one of a kind. Every piece of felt is made by hand and as such it is impossible to make two identical pieces. The head dress featured on these photos is one I recently sold and is used for illustration purposes only; any made to order head dresses will vary slightly from the one depicted here. The mask weighs approximately 670 g. but the weight of a made to order item may vary.
Totally quirky and sure to attract lots of attention, this mask fits snugly around the head and looks life like. There is a generous opening at the back of the beak which allows the wearer to breathe (!!) .
The mask has been wet felted by hand from Alpaca, Shetland and Hebridean wool which was purchased from farmers in my locality and scoured and carded by myself. Well made felt is very strong, hard wearing and tactile. It is also comfortable against the skin, breathable and water repellant, so this can be worn outside without fear of being ruined when it rains.
