Totally quirky and sure to attract lots of attention, this headdress fits snugly around the head and leaves the lower jaw uncovered, allowing the wearer to breathe (!) and eat.
The mask has been wet felted by hand from Jacob, Shetland and Manx Loaghtan wool which was purchased from farmers in my locality and scoured and carded by myself. Well made felt is very strong, hard wearing and tactile. It is also comfortable against the skin, breathable and water repellant, so this can be worn outside without fear of being ruined when it rains.
I make these headdresses with performance in mind, so wether you are a street performer, dancer, actor, performance artist or just like to dress up, please contact me if you're interested in commissioning me to make a different animal.
I pride myself on my craft(wo)manship and don't sell anything that hasn't been made to a high standard.
It's a hard item to measure but it should fit anyone with a head circumference of up to 60 cm maximum (measured just above the ears at the widest point). Children can obviously wear this mask too- as in some of these photos- but it will be a loose fit and may shift about. The mask weighs approximately 420g.
