Maille is a French mustard and pickle company. Founded in 1747, it is famous for its Dijon mustard and cornichon. Maille set up a shop in Paris in 1747 and in 1769 became the official vinegar supplier and distiller of the King of France.
The pottery at Sarreguemines, France was established in 1784. They hold a long and successful history of creating beautiful ceramics, ranging from fine stoneware to majolica and are widely sought after by collectors.
This jar is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. It has minor signs of use and a few imperfections in the glazed finish but these details only add to its old world charm.
The jar measures 5 1/2" tall.
