creepy plaster heads boy girl children oddity bust figurine hand painted home decor 8" tall

have very limited information on these heads. The feel like plaster, but they might be ceramic. They are definitely old and definitely hand painted, and certainly creepy as all get out. The detail is amazing, and the paint job is superb. On top of that, they have just enough age and weathering to make them absolutely perfect. They stand 8" tall and weigh ~14oz each. They are definitely hollow, and have felted bottoms. The girl has no major flaws, while the boy has a chipped ear and three chips that reveal a black material underneath the surface - possibly some sort of metallic mix? The do have a slightly metallic sound when you flick the surface. I wish I knew more about their origin, construction, and date, but I do know they look amazing and would be a great addition to your creepy oddities collection. They will be sitting in my curio until they land in yours.
