I wanted to make a necklace representing the elements - earth, air, fire, water.
I used a beach pebble, found on the beach while I was on my honeymoon, which I've drilled and wired, to represent both earth and water. Beach glass from Maine, bought from The Artist's Closet*, represents water. A copper dipped gum leaf, represents air - for the breeze that gently blew it from it's tree, and pit-fired clay and raku beads represent both earth and fire. The raku beads are by Stan Roberts, of Xaz Bead Company**

These have all been wired into various dangles with either/both copper and sterling silver wire, and threaded onto a sterling silver chain (which is approx 50cm long - just under 20"), along with lamp-worked glass beads, both modern and primitive. The chain is fastened with a tiny sterling silver toggle clasp, which you can see in the first photo (which I had a bit of fun with - don't use that as an example of the colours in this piece!)

I really like "A Chief's Wife" as an alternate name for this. It really does feel like treasure - like you're rich, and you're the most important woman in the tribe!

Please note that all prices on Etsy are shown in US$.

I pack my jewellery into a suitable container - a small box, a little pouch - depending on the item. If you prefer that I don't use the box, to cut down on shipping costs, please let me know. If I can safely package an item without the box, and have it come in under 2cm I'm happy to do that. But you have to say so in comments to seller.
Please also let me know if you'd prefer I not use recycled/re-used packing materials.
