These two basic versions of the Blood Red/Dying gown came with a scant two weeks before the first one was needed! However, both were mailed the same day, so I had one week to do both of these gowns. Hectic!
Both gowns were constructed as two pieces using crushed velvet, a short undergown with the full overgrown. Both clients requested a slightly higher neckline that the original. The black one has a train that hooks up to a French bustle. The navy gown pieces are sewn together as the last step, and the black one has heavy snaps on the shoulders, keeping the straps in place. The gold lace was a taupe colored Venice lace that I painted gold with a paint that had 14kt gold in it. It's heavy and somewhat stiff to keep shape and not fall off the shoulders. Red and green heat-set crystals finish the gowns.
This listing is for a costume version made the same way. As with all my gowns though, this gown is made to last.
You choose color, trained or not, and whether you'd like the higher neckline or the lower one from the film. If trained, let me know if you'd like it made so it can bustle. Convo me if you're interested in a film-accurate version. Non-crushed velvet will have an additional cost of $75 due to the additional cost of non-crushed velvet. There is no additional labor cost, though the non-crushed velvet does take more time to work with and different seam and hem treatments.
I will need the following measurements to complete your gown:
Base of neck to the floor
Shoulder to shoulder across the back
If trained, approximately how long you'd like it from the base of your feet
Please allow up to 2 weeks to make and ship (usually takes less time though). Rush ordering, when available, incurs an additional fee depending on how soon it's needed. All orders after October 12th will incur a rush fee.
SHIPPING INFORMATION: The international shipping cost for this listing includes postal shipping. Delivery will be confirmed, but will not be tracked every step of the way. If you are more comfortable with tracking every step of the way or want a faster delivery time, please purchase my other listing for this dress. The estimated transit time is 2-3 weeks, depending on customs times. I do ship as gift. Thanks you.
PAYMENT INFORMATION: I, like a growing number of etsy sellers, accept Google Checkout for payments. An invoice will be sent to you from Google Checkout. While payment isn't made the very second you order, it is much more secure than Paypal, buyers are protected, sellers don't get credit card info or any other personal information, international shipping is fine (there's a common misconception that it's not, but it depends on if the seller set up the cart to accept international addresses), accounts are much harder to hack, and fees are much less for sellers. I also don't support Paypal's tendency to freeze accounts set up for disaster donations and then to hold the money for 180 days.
When purchasing, please check the "other" checkbox and an invoice will be sent directly to you. Thank you!
