Also known as Olibanum, Frankincense was used by the ancient Egyptians as an offering to the gods and as a rejuvenating face mask. Given as a gift to the infant Jesus in the Christmas story with Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh.
Frankincense is a fragrance component in soaps, incense, and of course, cosmetics and perfumes. To release its scent, the frankincense is either burned or smoldered over hot coals. The smoke from burning frankincense is effective for driving away mosquitoes and other pests.
If you do not own a traditional Frankincense burner:
Break granules in a cloth by hammering it. Use a small candle style aromatherapy diffuser, cover the bowl with a layer of aluminum foil. Ignite candle and allow to continue burning for up to two hours. The granules are spent when they turn dark. Change the foil for each use.
You will receive 50g(1.5oz) of our frankincense resin.
Everything is packaged with the utmost care and love.
