This is my representation of a young Sumatran Striped Rabbit - one of the rarest rabbit species on earth. The distinctive brown stripes on the face and body of this rabbit enable it to blend perfectly with its Indonesian rainforest habitat. This shy nocturnal animal is so rare it was presumed extinct for many years. It has recently been captured on film using camera traps but there are only a few photos of it available so I had to guess much of it's pose and the color of its eyes and fur in this painting.

- the paints I use are permanent and waterproof
- a waterproof sealant has been applied for extra protection
- avoid exposure to heat
- wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth to clean
