Banana fiber yarn is made from fibres of the banana plant. The fibres are soaked to make a pulp which is then extruded into fibres that are spun to make the yarn. This yarn can be used to make bags, pouches, hats, scarves, shawls, sweaters and other wearables.
It is slightly softer than recycled sari silk yarn and has the sheen and lustre of silk, so it is a great substitute for silk. The yardage is similar to the recycled sari silk yarn, around 80-90 yards for every 90-100 gm skein.
