A new ecofriendly blank journal has been made out of this old unwanted school history book! Part of my Rebound Journal series, the covers are from a vintage school text book, “Glimpses into the Long Ago” (1939) by Edna McGuire.

This book was lovingly disassembled to allow the bookcloth to be reglued over the spine edge so there are no raw edges on the covers. Cover endpapers are made from a brightly coloured coordinating paper. Bound with waxed linen thread using a double needle coptic binding, leaving a lovely chain stitch on the spine. This allows the book to lie perfectly flat when open. The inside is filled with a generous 160 pages (counting both sides) of reclaimed pale grey paper. Each section of pages is wrapped with a piece of orange paper, adding more colour to the spine of the book and giving more pages to write on!

This journal measures 21.5 x 15.5 cm (8.5 x 6.25”).
