Cafe Van Zanten, with the green awnings, is on the street Bloemendalsestraat in the old center of Amersfoort. It was a few minutes walk from our home when we lived in the Netherlands. The third photo shows the actual quick shot we took on our last trip back. In the painting you will see Jan took artistic license, no cars and added a few people, there usually are people at the sidewalk seating. Cafe Van Zanten is like many pubs and cafes in Holland, neighborhood places with great lighting and atmosphere, gezellig, as the Dutch say.
In the painting the shop sign on the left is a sewing machine, Jan ties that in to my life and collection of vintage machines, my other etsy shop is TreadleLady.
This listing is for one original acrylic painting as shown in the first photo, ready to hang or place on a small easel, not included. It has a freely cut outer edge and is painted to the edges in a slightly mottled effect that compliments the center scene.
Outer measurement is approximately 8 3/4 inches wide and 10 3/4 inches high, the measurement of the actual scene is 5 inches wide and 6 3/4 inches high. The wording across the photo does not appear on the original.
