'Fool,' said my muse to me, "look in thy heart and write!'"
-Sir Philip Sidney
My first encounter with this stanza of Sidney's writing was, naturally, in college, during a British Literature course. I think I must have exclaimed aloud at the discovery, so elated was I to have found such a perfect encouragement to my own heart in the midst of my studies. I have since had the quote written on something visible near my desk at all times, so that when I sit down to write, I will remember that the only good work I can produce must come from the part of me that beats out my individuality.
For anyone who struggles against that old "trewand pen," or has daily battles with the Muse.
I painted this quote on a deep cream colored mug, large, and slightly wavy at the lip. On one side of the quote I added a quill and inkpot; on the other, a typewriter. Perfect to sip from while you work on your novel, poetry, or shorts.
All of my work is done with heat-set ceramic paint, and is dishwasher and microwave safe. Avoid the use of harsh abrasives, however.
If you live outside the US, I will ship your order through the Postal Service rather than FedEx. If you see your country listed below, this means I have shipped to it before, and have a general idea of the pricing for that area. If not, you are welcome to choose "Everywhere else," and help me determine the cost for your country, so that the next time you'll have a more accurate shipping price.
NOTE: IF YOU ARE BUYING MORE THAN FOUR MUGS, AND YOU LIVE OUTSIDE THE U.S., your purchase may be subject to additional shipping charge. After four pounds, the Post Office's international prices go up rather exponentially. Feel free to message me about this if needed, and we can discuss options.
