Here is a pair of handmade, one of a kind earrings featuring real vintage postage stamps preserved under crystal clear glass domes. I use beautiful stamps I have collected from around the globe over many years. Many are engraved rather than printed. All are real miniature artworks with a rich beauty that cannot be fully captured by a digital scan. I’ve hoarded them in my studio, safe in an acid-free box, but it always seemed sad that nobody ever saw them. So this is my way of letting them shine.
The photos show the actual pair of earrings you will receive. No, they don’t match. No two of my earrings can possibly be the same, particularly if the stamps I use have been cancelled. And that’s the best part! The pair you choose for your own will be absolutely unique and genuine.
This pair was made with two stamps from the Soviet Union, from a 1974 series featuring varieties of flowers. Pictured is a pale purple bellflower on a field of sienna-colored bellflower silhouettes. Leverback pendant earring foundation is antique bronze plated brass. Image is 20mm (about ¾ inch) in diameter and richer in color than the photographs suggest.
Earrings will arrive on a mini vintage postcard, perfect for gifting and suitable for almost any age. Do you know a philately enthusiast? A botanist or gardener? Or will you keep these for yourself?
Keep earrings clean and dry. They must not be worn while swimming, showering, or bathing.
