This set represents the 4 main cephalopods of the sea:
1 Large bowl with cuttlefish (measuring 8 x 4.25 inches)
1 Medium bowl a sitting octopus
1 Small bowl with a giant squid
1 Tiny bowl with nautilus
All bowls were hand thrown on the pottery wheel out of white stoneware. 2 bowls have a trimmed foot, while the other 2 have a wave pattern bottom.
Glazed in glazes that I make myself, and then fired to cone 6.
Some of the images are from my own drawings and others are from scientific drawings from the 1800's that I make into graphic images. Next I print them as an iron-oxide decals and fire them onto the pot causing the iron-oxide to transfer/melt into the glaze (staining it a rust color). The image is forever part of the glaze and will NOT rub off. It has been fired a total of 3 times!
Food safe.
