Rag Rug Vintage Recycled Fabric Urban Farmhouse Decor Shabby Chic Primitive
Long before recycling and re-purposing came back in vogue our grandparents and great grandparents were taking their old clothing and linens and tearing them into strips for a new project.
This old rag rug has been hand woven from those strips of fabric from long ago....
Imagine Marys pink dress and Harry's brown work shirt and pants along with little Peggy's green skirt.
If these old rugs could talk what stories they would tell!
I see a definable patina of age to this and the fabrics used.
I did a gentle wash and air dry but it still has that hint of a "tea stain" effect.
I know that is desirable to many so I did not attempt to "over clean"
I will leave that decision up to the new owner.
This measures about 34" at the longest point and 21" at the widest area.
As you can see it is an unusual shape, not really oval...more of an octagon but that is what makes it so charming!
Colors are browns, greens, pinks, blues and ecru They all blend together nicely!
I have another rug very similar to this in my shop but with a darker brown fabric so please visit my other items if you are interested in the pair.
Please feel free to convo me with any further questions.
I thank you for your interest and invite you to view my other items.
I'm always happy to combine shipping when it is reasonable to do so.
