I first made this band many years ago in my casting class as we were learning to use sheet wax. I felt like it was a little too neat for me, so I decided to rough it up and give it a porous texture before it was cast. I'm that girl who loves included stones and porosity on gold, they're so much more interesting to me. Lulu is a pretty lightweight band, that's what I love about her, it almost feels like you're not wearing a ring. She is made with 18k gold, is 3mm wide and has a matte rustic finish.
△ I can make Lulu for you in your size, please message me for pricing if the size you need is larger than an 8 1/2. Keep in mind that she is handmade and will be similar, but not exactly as the one in the photo. Your Lulu will have her own quirks and markings. Please allow 3-5 weeks.
A little about how your ring was made.

Lost wax casting. I begin by creating a wax model of your ring and making a mold of it with plaster. After it sets, I place it into my kiln for many hours during which the wax is melted out. I then melt your gold and spin it into the mold using a centrifugal caster. Now for my favorite part, I quench your mold in water and dig to the bottom of the bucket to find your little gold sculpture. I'm so happy, your ring is ready to be cleaned, textured and finished. This seems a little extreme for a simple gold band, but I love the organic softness which is created by wax.

I love rustic oddball things with quirks and character....a little rough around the edges. All
pieces are formed with wax than cast using the lost wax method. All are tumbled for strength.
I select gemstones and rose cut diamonds for their beauty and natural inclusions...It reminds me of the journey they've been through.
