Here is another great vintage bargain. This two pieces butter dish from Vernon Kilns in California is made in one of the first patterns produced there, Gingham. The yellow and green plaid is laid over an off white background. The gingham pattern was produced from 1949 to 1958. Finding the accessory pieces is not easy. This is one of those wonderful finds that you grab for the beauty of the item and then realize it has three little chips on the underside (around or just under the outer green band on the tray section. I tried to show them clearly in pictures two and three. The top or cover part is perfect. Had these little chips not been there you can be assured this rare piece would be priced at least three times higher than it is. If you have been looking for this pattern, the top is in excellent shape. The tray or bottom has some chips that will not come in contact with food and may possibly go unnoticed. As we stated this is a damaged vintage bargain from our bargain bin. Sale is final so please do examine all pictures and ask any questions you may have before purchasing. We will pack this item very carefully to insure no further damage in shipping. If you would like more photos please contact me.
