Gown is made with ivory satin. The bodice is fully lined. Three-quarter length sleeves are lined with a contrasting pale blue floral fabric than can just barely be seen. Scalloped lace spills out of the cuffs of the sleeves. Blue velvet ribbon and an ivory bow trims each sleeve as well (see photo #4). The skirt of the gown has two layers. The inner layer is made with a contrasting pale blue floral fabric. It is embellished with lace, ribbon, and gold metallic trim. The outer layer, or overskirt, is made with ivory satin. It is trimmed with gold pleated ribbon and blue cord. The gown fastens in back using three blue beads and thread loops (see photo #5)
Underneath Barbie's gown is a petticoat made with white cotton. Boning has been attached to the petticoat, creating a hoop skirt that gives the gown its full form.
A bonnet made with gold pleated ribbon and blue cord fastens around Barbie's head (see photo #3). A pale blue beaded necklace is also included.
This gown fits best on 11 1/2 inch dolls like Barbie made before 1999. It will also fit on newer dolls, but will fit loosely in the bust. DOLL, STAND, AND OTHER ACCESSORIES NOT INCLUDED.
In order to prevent crushing or distorting the shape of the hoop skirt, this gown will ship in a plastic keepsake container.
