The world right now is really into random bits of this and that stitched together and stuck onto women's heads. Fascinators, they're called, and many of them are, whether because they're fascinatingly pretty, or because it's fascinating that someone would willingly put that on their head.
While some people like feathers and flowers and pretty pearls on their fascinators, I enjoy leaning towards the less conventional. The Piranha Plant is a truly remarkable bit of flora - brightly coloured, scarily toothy and often fire-breathing. What could be more awesome to wear on your head? And awesome as this plant is, very few people seem to be wearing one on their heads, so you're sure to stand out from the crowd, whether at work, a Halloween party, a gaming convention or high tea.
The Piranha plant is partially machine sewn, partially needle felted and largely hand stitched. It is stuffed very tightly with polyester fibers, and firmly attached (glued and then sewn) to a thin metal headband adorned with red ribbon. Being made of felt, it is extremely light to wear. The leaves measure 5 inches from the tip of one to the top of the other, and the bulb of the plant is approximately 2 1/2 inches across - 3 1/4 inches at the mouth.
