We went out on a "whim" with this rescued pine tree trunk pedestal! We stained the wood side table bright blue so that the wood grain still shows through. This extra tall stump end table is rescued from a forest "grinder pile." The knotty tree's natural form is a functional organic reminder of where wood comes from! We kiln-dry these tree sections piled after hazardous fuels removal projects. We level, smooth and sand the sides leaving the individual character of each piece intact. After we polish the top, we added the blue stain, a few coats of clear matte wax sealer and felt feet are added to help deter the effects of humidity changes. Taa Daa! It is ready to become a part of your environment! Use it as a nightstand (side table in a dorm?), end table, childs table, deck, patio or plant stand.

Just think, it would have been ground to bits!
