This painting was apart of my senior show series "Pinned to My Pillow" which featured 10 different pin-up girls with different color animal heads.
The idea behind these paintings is this: pin up girls were once a way to empower women but nowadays for a woman to achieve the same about of sexual power these pin ups had they have to show more skin and in many way degrade themselves more. So in some ways they are no better than animals, hence the animal heads.
Each animal was chosen because of their associate with women in one way or another. The clothing are based off vintage lingerie and each pose of the women are based off classic pin up girl illustrations. The titles feature the proper name of the animal first and in parenthesis is the name for the female of the animal in question - in this case a Doe.
This large cut out painting would be a unique addition to anyone's home since it features a lovely pin-up girl with a yellow deer head. It is completely cut out so it is best to hang with nails support on the major angles/sides. It is lightweight since it is made out MDF Board, a composite building material, so don't let it's size worry you.
